Research Description
My research involves the exploration into the use of new and novel semiconducting materials for potential alternative energy applications, such as photovoltaics and photoelectrochemical water splitting. Newly developed semiconducting compounds in the Kanatzidis Group have been shown to have facile chemical tuneability, which could allow for excellent selective absorption of the solar spectrum. I am also working on the synthesis of rational nano-composites for thermoelectrics, comprised of traditional thermoelectrics controllably interfaced with inert nanomaterials.
