Research

My current focus of research is related to the synthesis of porous material based on chalcogenide clusters ([MQ4]4-, [M2Q6]4-, [M4Q10]4- / M = Sn, Ge / Q = S, Se, Te). Pt2+, Mn2+, Zn2+ and other metal ions are used as a linking agent to connect chalcogenide clusters to form porous network. These porous materials based on chalcogenide building units can lead to different applications such as sensing device, heavy metal adsorption, and drug delivery with surface functionalization due to its narrow bandgap and high surface area.
