I joined the Kanatzidis group in 2010 after obtaining a bachelors degree from Georgetown University. At Georgetown I worked under Sarah Stoll trying to synthesize lanthanide-selenide semiconductor nanoparticles to investigate their magneto-optical properties.
My current research focuses on using the metal flux technique to explore complex, rare earth-containing intermetallic systems. I utilize mostly Al, Sn, and In flux, with the synthetic goal of increasing the library of known intermetallic compounds and correlating structural features with physical properties.
