Prospective Graduate Students

Postdoctoral Fellows

The Harel group offers a unique opportunity in the Department of Chemistry at Northwestern for highly motivated students interested in the challenges of building a new lab and seeing ideas come full circle from conception to implementation. We are deeply involved in thinking about problems in quantum mechanics, non-equilibrium statistical mechanics, photochemistry, protein folding, relaxation theory, to name a few. You will be heavily involved in developing new techniques in spectroscopy and imaging and applying them to problems of biological and chemical importance.

Prospective Postdocs

Postdoctoral Position in Ultrafast Science

The Harel lab in the Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University has openings for two outstanding postdoctoral scholars. The ideal candidate will have recently completed a PhD in Chemistry or Physics with a research emphasis on either one or a combination of nonlinear optics, spectroscopy, microscopy, ultrafast science, and molecular dynamics. One of these openings is eligible for a prestigious Dreyfus Postdoctoral Fellowship in Environmental Chemistry.  More information on research activities, the Dreyfus program, and Northwestern Chemistry can be found at
