Research Interests

 

My group’s interests overlap chemistry, biology and engineering, with an emphasis on the design and synthesis of materials that are biologically active and in applications of the materials to relevant problems in the biological and medical sciences.  Much of our work is focused on developing tools that can profile the full range of chemical reactions that occur in the cell, and that reveal the design principles that underlie the complex functions that they control.  Our group is jointly appointed through the departments of Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, and Cell & Molecular Biology which is evident by the array of projects we are currently investigating.   Current work includes:
