"Cells perform a broad range of functions—including the control of muscle contraction, the storage of memories, and the mounting of immune responses—through the collective actions of thousands of proteins.  I'm interested in the roles of the individual proteins in these processes, and I'm developing tools to gain a systems-level understanding that reveals the design rules used in biology."

Current research interests include; Biomaterials and interfaces, Cell adhesion and migration, Electroactive interfaces, Physical organic chemistry of interfacial reactions, and Bio-Inspired Nanostructured Materials and Biochips.
