Research

I joined the Kanatzidis group as a Post-doc in November of 2008 and I am working on the synthesis of new microporous polymers. These are all organic open framework solids with pore width of several Angstroms. The main purpose for these materials is hydrogen storage but they may also be used for other selective adsorption and separation applications.

In the past I studied the preparation hydroxyapatite nanoparticles by microemuslion technique (Master degree). Later, during my PhD, I worked on the synthesis of mesoporous silicates (MCM-41 type) with various combinations transition metals and lanthanides. I applied these materials as catalysts in different reactions like de-NOx, de-SOx and dry reforming of methane.
