Research in Chen Group is mainly in two directions:
1) Understanding and control of ultrafast electronic and geometric structural dynamics in photochemical reactions for solar energy conversion processes, such as photoinduced charge separation, water splitting and catalytical reactions
2) Tacking and control light energy and electron flow in self-assembled organic and hybrid materials on molecular and nanoscale for photovoltaic and molecular device applications.
